I don't agree. He at least acknowledges that pregnancy can happen due to rape; Akin's remark was absolutely ridiculous. Saying that a woman's body can shut down a pregnancy due to a rape is completely ignorant about basic science. It is also setting up a situation where women can be put in easy catagories - if she is pregnant, it is not a rape. That is completely offensive. I disagree with Ryan's stance but I do not think what he said was any comparison to Akin. He was just being honest about what he believes.

Rape can cause a pregnancy, but sould not be called a "method of conception." It is still an illegal, brutal action.

Rape can certainly result in conception. It is odd to express that as a "form of conception."

True. It is really clinical. It doesn't take all the emotions into account of what happens to a person who has been raped. Yet, Ryan's stance is that no abortion no matter what. Personally, I think unless he can bear a child, he should stay out of it.

I wonder if he would feel differently if he, a male, were pregnant. Perhaps the pain and certainty that it would probably kill him might change his mind.

Considering that Paul Ryan was on the GOP committee that framed the "platform plank" of no abortion ever for any reason. Also he served on the US Senate committee for the GOP that tried to"re-define rape" like Tod Akins US House committee tried to do.
...Manu US house and US Senators of the GOP want to end all abortions forever.
...Yet they will not spend one more cent for child development, education, etc.
...Let alone, they want to get rid of student loans. SO there is no way out of poverty for those who are born.

I have seen in the news that in Pakistan two women and four men were received the death penalty for disregarding the segregation of sexes in dancing at a wedding.

The men managed to escape and the women are held tight up and starved because the men had to be put to death first.

However, it seems that they did not even ignore the segregation rules. A party goer took a video with a cell phone and it seems that they did...

So why should Ryan live in the present when there are so many people in the world, living in the past...
