  Andre the giant was very big in wrestling.
 
 
  He also had a big part in "The Princess Bride". The mugshots were taken when he was arrested for roughing somebody up.
If there was a sports hall of shame, Andre might be in it. He had a disease called "acromegaly", which is a hormonal disease. This disease made him big, but it may also have caused his death from a heart attack. He died in middle age. His immense weight may have been a factor in his death. He was around 500 lbs. He was over 7 feet tall.

I saw him wrestle live at the Boston Garden. He was fighting Mr. Fuji when he grabbed Fuji. He pulled the back of Fuji's trunks down and showed Fuji's rear end to the crowd. Then he swung Fuji around so that the whole audience could see it!

Andre was so big that they had trouble getting his whole face in the mugshots.

Another interesting Andre story is that he went into a restaurant and ordered the all-you-can-eat entree. He ate 40 lobsters!

I saw Andre The Giant wrestle in my hometown.

An oddity is that he died very shortly after his Father died. Maybe the death of his Father caused stress which triggered his own heart attack.
